In the state of Texas there are certain individuals who only need to complete the online portion of the Texas License to Carry in order to obtain the license. The following individuals are exempt from the shooting portion of the license:
* Texas State Correctional Officers
* Active Duty Military or Veterans that have proof of firearms familiarization training OR shooting scores dated within the past 10 years.
* County Jailers who have proof of firearms training as part of their employment.

Yes, Texas law now allows you to take the official Texas License to Carry Class online. This allows you to take the class at your own pace and from the comfort of your home. Our online class is available here.
You can have your name changed on your license by submitting an LTC 70 to the Texas Department of Transportation. You can download the form here.
You must submit your online application BEFORE submitting any other documents to DPS. Once you have completed all of the documentation and have completed all of the necessary steps you can upload your documents to the following link.

No, Texas will issue a Texas License to Carry to any individual with a valid driver’s license or state issued identification that has been issued by any state within the United States. You can get started taking the class here.

You will submit the application online to the DPS website. Once the application is complete you will receive an email with a checklist of items to complete. This checklist will have instructions on how to schedule your fingerprints and which documents you will need to complete the process. Make sure you keep all documents in a secured location during this process. We recommend completing this process on a computer or laptop and not your mobile phone.

Yes, Texas passed Constitutional Carry/Permitless Carry however it is limited and has restrictions.
You can renew you Texas LTC online here. Login as a “Returning User”. If the renewal link is not available it may not be within the prescribed window which is 6 months prior to expiration. The renewal process only includes an online submission and does not include any additional class time or range qualifications.
Yes, Texas now allows individuals 18 years of age or older to receive their LTC.
Once you have submitted your application online the Department will make every effort to issue your license within 60 days. This time may vary based on the volume of applications being submitted. No, you do not need to own a handgun to complete the class. We have handguns they can be rented on the day of class.
You can use a semi-automatic or revolver of any caliber to complete the range qualifications for the Texas LTC. The type of handgun used for the range qualifications does not dictate the handgun that you use.
Make sure you arrive to your class on the assigned day no later than 20 minutes prior to the start of class. If you arrive after this time you will have to reschedule the cost of a new class. If your class is at The Sharp Shooter report to the classroom. If your class is at The Gun Club remain in the guest parking lot until you are retrieved.
Make sure you have with you: Eye and Ear Protection, Hair: Pulled back and out of your way and/or a hat, Shirt: No low cut shirts and tank tops, you may consider a comfortable lightweight (depending on the weather) shirt. Note: I personally love wearing a long sleeve DriFit shirt, Pants: Long pants or jeans, no shorts, please and Shoes: Closed-toed shoes (tennis shoes or boots).
1. Pen and paper to take awesome notes.
2. Depending on the class you’re taking you’ll need a pistol (either a semi-automatic or revolver). If you do not have one a pistol can be rented for $35 using the link below. Please send me an email to ensure I’ve received the payment in time for class. Note: In our experience pistols with grip safety and .380 are typically difficult for novice shooters. If you’re taking an AR class with us you’ll need an AR. Please contact us if you’ll need to rent one.

3. A box of no less than 100 rounds of factory ammunition for Pistol Classes, 400-500 rounds for AR Classes. No reloads, please.
4. We’ll take a short breaks so please bring a snacks and plenty of water.
5. Depending on the location of your class make sure you’ve completed The Gun Club waiver or The Sharp Shooter waiver prior to the class start time.
